We specialise in supplying high quality kiln dried mixed hardwood which is perfect for use in your wood fuel or multi-fuel stove, open fire or chimenea
All of our firewood is sustainably sourced in the UK before being processed and kiln dried by us at our site in Northamptonshire
Being kiln dried and accredited under the Woodsure Ready to Burn scheme and Biomass Suppliers List guarantees that your logs will be delivered with an average moisture content of less than 20% giving maximum efficiency and cleanliness of burn.
This is a natural product so the diameter of our timber varies. Our aim is to provide you with logs which range from 5cm – 25cm in width although there may be a small 10% tolerance to this. Whilst each load is passed through our log cleaner to remove sticks and brash you may have a small quantity of this in each load.
Logs to suit all fires can be supplied with a range of log lengths from 20cm (8”) to 38cm (15”) available – our standard sized log is 25.5cm (10”) and is suitable for most open fires and wood fuel/multi-fuel stoves.
Orders are predominantly made by the 1m3, being our most popular quantity, but smaller deliveries of 0.4m3 can be made. If your requirements are not shown then do please contact us to see if we can cater for your needs.
Only Sustainable Materials
Thanks to a grant from the Rural England Prosperity Fund we are now even more sustainable with 95% of our electricity supplied by an off-grid solar photovoltaic system.
Woodsure Ready to Burn
Woodsure is the UK’s only quality assurance certification scheme for woodfuel. All of our firewood is accredited under the DEFRA appointed Woodsure Ready to Burn Certification Scheme which underpins The Air Quality (Domestic Solid Fuels Standards) (England) Regulations 2020 – this is available to firewood suppliers who can demonstrate to Woodsure their ready to burn logs have a moisture content consistently below 20%.
The scheme has the backing of DEFRA, HETAS, the STOVE INDUSTRY ALLIENCE and industry representatives such as ourselves, who are committed to this scheme which clearly identifies that the wood is ready to burn at the point of sale.
Further information can be found on the Woodsure website.
Biomass Suppliers List
Being registered on the Biomass Suppliers List (BSL) means that our firewood complies with the sustainability requirements required to meet the eligibility rules for the Renewable Heat Incentive.
This means that greenhouse gas emissions from our timber are 60% lower than the EU fossil fuel average. It also requires all of our timber to be legally felled from sustainably managed woodland.
Further information can be found on the BSL website.
